Harry Coover, born on March 6 1917, passed away on March 26, 2011. Although he passed on last month, I have used Harry Coover's product and it has helped me out so I wanted to post a tribute for him despite the time that has elapsed. He discovered the compound that would later be marketed as Super Glue and Instant Krazy Glue. Many of you will remember the commercial with the man wearing a construction hat that was glued to a beam while he was hanging from it. The fact that is not as well known is perhaps the most important use of the product - it was administered to seal and patch soldiers' organs and wounds in the Vietnam War. In 2010, current United States President Barack Obama awarded Coover with the National Medal Of Technology And Innovation. Coover held no less than 460 patents. Harry Coover has passed on, but his invention will be around for some time to come. RIP.
