The 2013 New Jersey State History Fair At Washington Crossing State Park In Titusville
Once again Washington Crossing State Park In Titusville, NJ held the New Jersey State History Fair. It ended up getting rained out. I took as many photos as I could and I recorded a worthwhile video of a cannon demonstration. If I arrived when I had planned to arrive (11:00 AM), I would have been able to see all of the sites. I arrived at about 2:30 PM and security began to kick people out, due to what was a drizzle with a few gusts of wind, at just before 3:30 PM. The event was held yesterday (May 11, 2013).
This is hilarious. At this time of the day, security went around telling people that "Washington Crossing State Park is now closing due to extreme weather" (it wasn't extreme at all; the storm was just a drizzle) and the spectators had to evacuate, the Revolutionary War Reenactors continued to put on their cannon demonstration and right after the announcement that "all events are over", the one guys says "we have one round to fire" and they went and fired off the cannon! After that, he said, "the fest is now over"! Hahaha, these Reenactors are wild! I am glad I captured this footage ...
Hi there. Thank you for the comment. If you recall, we briefly discussed the use of iodine in canteens. The wind was rough just before security called for an evacuation. Luckily the storm waited until most of the day had past. It cleared up significantly during my commute home though.
Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThat was my WWII Aid Station in your photos.
It was a good time in spite of the weather challenges.
